Backlog: Dueling Backlogs edition

I really dropped the ball on this one, guys. Everything was all ready to go well ahead of schedule last week but I just never got around to compiling the damn thing and getting it out the door. I sincerely apologize; I take this stuff seriously, and I’m still trying to figure out how to balance work and free time.

There’s another Backlog dropping within the next 48 hours, but hopefully this one won’t appear too stale in comparison.

Let’s just get right to it: Aaron and Doug have some great stuff to share, and I’ve got this bangin’ new 3DS to talk about. Baller.

The Backlog: Mobsters, Motorcars and Minecraft edition

This was a lot funnier in my head. Sorry, everybody.

At Silicon Sasquatch, one of our strengths — yes, we do have strengths — is our diversity of taste. Doug loves games where you drive a car in circles for hours, which Aaron will find baffling; surely his period-piece mafia adventure is a lot more fun. And both of them will think I’m absolutely out of my mind when I tell them I spent most of my free time this week hollowing out an entire mountain because, um, that’s just what I wanted to do.

So that’s what we’re focusing on this week: the things that make each of us special.

Backlog: Summer Vacation Edition

It's summertime in the Northwest, which means it's time to come out from under cover and enjoy the scenery, like Crater Lake (photo by D. Bonham).

Much like a bad sunburn, we’re back after a little mid-summer hibernation. Aaron is still out in the Oregon woods getting his camp counselor act on, but Nick and Doug have been snug in civilization and playing games. Doug, now properly equipped with a TV from the 21st century, has been building cities and breaking tackles, while Nick has been matching three, hitting apexes and staring down a worthy opponent. All very thrilling.

But enough of that, let’s get on to the gaming.
